Seeing retribution against non-profits who have DEI in mission?
I know that the government is trying to stifle/strangle DEI in all organizations, including non-profits, but is anyone seeing the for-profit sector doing things as well? I am a financial consultant to a nonprofit that has DEI in its mission. They switched their accounting platform to a popular one through TechSoup. The organizations Merchant services application was flat-out denied, so they cannot take credit card payments through the accounting system. When the org asked for a reason, they were told that they were too “risky.” This is a stable, relatively long-standing non-profit with years of strong cash flow and financial reports. I suspect that they were denied because they have a mission of racial equity and nonprofit leadership and the Trump Administration EO, but of course no one will flat out admit it. Has anyone experienced anything like this recently?
