I’m glad we’ll have a chance to spend more time with this topic. I’m Mark, one of the NFC moderators, and I’m looking forward to having more back-and-forth in the forums.

Budgeting is about community building. Setting spending decisions is valuable, sure, but the process of planning and gathering input from staff, clients, funders, and other constituents is at least as valuable. If people feel like they don’t have a voice in decision-making, community takes a back seat.
