This is a lot easier to assess now because nonprofit verification has been automated by tools such as the Nonprofit Check Plus API. This saves the manual stress of paper works. It also makes it easier to assess an organization’s legitimacy and transparency before giving. For me, looking at these factors together provides a much better picture of a charity’s long-term financial health than relying on a single overhead percentage.
