Ruth McCambridge is the former longtime editor-in-chief of the premier national civil society publication, Nonprofit Quarterly. Her background is in social change and community organizing as well as nonprofit organizational development. Ruth’s work has consistently focused on issues of racial, economic, and gender justice, most often in a variety of primarily grassroots organizations. Her work has always consciously centered on the building of strong nonprofit organizations directly and actively guided by their constituents/members, and it always included that intensive hands-on mix of organizing, management, fundraising, speaking, advocacy, and publishing so familiar to nonprofit leaders.
